Power generation with solar power/photovoltaic systems (along with other systems) should bring about energy independence from foreign countries and, at the same time, cut down on air pollution.

Not everyone can afford to have their own solar power system — even a small one — especially in multi-story apartment buildings where the roof area is definitely not big enough.

That is the idea behind ‘smart’ grids where, let’s say, within the interior of a transformer box where electricity gets distributed, everyone — those who produce, those who produce and consume with their own system, as well as those who only consume — share resources.

Sounds like a nice idea: too bad that the Italian power grid has been built unidirectionally — from where you produce to where you consume.

Energy communities should be small, circular, and distributed here and there.
